One part slasher, one part political thriller, Slaybour Day is an independent horror feature being shot in Ottawa in 2025. It concerns the story of a plucky investigative journalist who, having uncovered a decades old plot to industrialize the torture of the poor by the rich, goes undercover to get the inside scoop. Things get sinister in ways beyond his imagination, however, when one of the captives, a mysterious man in a pig mask, breaks free and takes the fight directly to his captors. Caught between his need to maintain cover and stay alive, our protagonist struggles through a blood-soaked night of carnage, conspiracy, and class consciousness as he fights his way to the center of the facility, and weighs whether or not he can survive without taking a side.
